Bob Briley - Drums

Bob Briley Bob became a hard hitter in 1965, his first gig played at age 12.

Later he studied under Howie Robbins, renowned leader of the drum corps The Percussionauts. Bob took up rock 'n roll, performing with local and regional acts. In Seattle he teamed with Ian Matthews, British singer formerly with Fairport Convention. This produced the power pop group Hi-Fi.

Two albums and a lot of touring later, Bob joined with future Atomic Jive guitarist Mike Ruggles in the Beatles tribute group Revolver. Fast forward, Bob is bored with the same old stuff and comes up with the ridiculous idea of an eight piece swing, rockabilly and R/B group.

Once again he teamed with Mike and long-time friend and bass playing side kick Lee Cardella. Bob coined the name Atomic Jive, and has set out to prove that sometimes even ridiculous ideas can be brilliant.
